Vintage Platz Wood OBOE, Elkhart IN with case and ruckle Reed tools

Smoke-free home. This is vintage from the 1940s. It was my grandmother's. It's still in the original case. And has another case that says ruckle Reed tools. I have no idea if this works or not. I do not play instruments. It's used. And the case there's four pieces but there's a slot that looks like there was something else in it but I have no idea what it was. Serial number is 2924.
