Motoring Wear

Description

This is the original costume used in my book "The Doll's Clothes Collection
published by David & Charles. Book available separately from eBay and Amazon.
The Motoring Wear fit a 43cm (17-19in) doll.
The Duster is a three-quarter length coat that has a round collar, long sleeves  that
puff at the top, and two patch pockets. The Duster is made from cotton broadcloth
and is completely lined. It buttons down the front with self-covered buttons. There
are matching buttons on the sleeves and back tab. The full-length Skirt is made from
five panels that flare out at the hemline. It is fully lined with a waistband that buttons
at the back. It is made from the same fabric as the Duster. The Blouse fastens down
the back with snap fasteners. It has long mutton-chop sleeves that gather into cuffs
.
The Jabot is lace edged and is stitched into the high-neck collar. A miniature cameo
decorates the Jabot. The straw motoring Bonnet is painted with fabric paint in a colour
to hide
the dust while motoring. A Veil is secured at the top and wraps under the chin.
