MCW Oboe - Mark Chudnow Winds, Beautiful, Pristine Condition.
Just in time for the holidays! Up for sale is this pristine MCW (Mark Chudnow Winds of California) oboe.
The oboe is hand finished. Mark Chudnow is one the best in our field, a well respected craftsman and oboe repair expert. His oboes are excellent instruments.
The oboe looks to have been used very little. The serial. Umber, I believe, indicates that it was made in 2010. It seems to have simply sat for most of its existence.
This oboe features a modified conservatory key system with all of the important keywork for an advancing player, including left F, low Bb, f resonance key, etc. The keywork is heavy silver plated and in excellent, clean, beautiful condition. The pads and corks are in excellent condition and are in perfect adjustment. The oboe has ALL cork pads, including low B and Bb
The wood body is beautiful with no cracks, scratches, or repairs of any kind. Lovely tight grain.
The oboe plays beautifully from top to bottom. Impeccable scale and response, and very comfortable to play. Nice dark, Ron’s sound and excellent projection. The oboe has a particularly easy high register that is very stable and easy to control.
The oboe comes with the original MCW leather covered French case, in excellent condition, as well as the original grenadilla tenon caps.
This would make an amazing instrument for an advancing student that should last them into college. This would also make a very high-end, easy to play instrument for a doubler looking to avoid the split ring.
