Magic Reed Handmade Professional Oboe Reeds
are designed for highly accomplished professionals and near professionals,  many who have trusted our reeds for their most important performances.   These are the best of the best in oboe reeds with a bold spirit and a great balance of warmth, nuance, response, focus, and stability.  Every reed is made from scratch, and to order.  We process all cane in-house and draw from our best in a medium strength, and with a diameter that achieves a moderate aperture.  We mount on a Chiarugi #2 professional staple.   We use our expert scraping skills to finish the reeds to concert standards.   They are tested on a Howarth XL oboe.
Note: While our reeds are Covid sanitized in our shop, it is the responsibility of every buyer to re-sanitize their reed upon arrival.
