Our
Intermediate Oboe Reeds
are handmade from scratch, and are specifically crafted for players with at least 18 months of experience.  Our best customers enjoy the increased structure and nuanced scraping that permits great warmth, tone color and dynamic range in our reeds.  Advanced players with a preference for a somewhat lighter reed enjoy this option as well.
There is nothing cookie cutter about these reeds.
We select professional grade cane from our inventory in medium to medium soft strength that we purchased just for you. We make sure that the aperture is just right
We match reed shape, staple size, and professional scrape/finish for a beautiful, highly responsive reed, that is balanced and plays in pitch.  This is often harder to achieve than beefier reeds found in our Elite model unless materials are properly matched.
We offer an American long scrape, with medium light and medium finishing,  respectively.  Reeds are finished in 1-2 drying cycles, and tested on a Howarth XL oboe.
These reeds are Covid sanitized in our shop, but we recommend that buyers re-sanitize reeds on arrival.
