FOX MODEL 400 FULL CONSERVATORY PROFESSIONAL GRANADILLA WOOD OBOE NICE

Description

Up for auction is a gently used Fox model 400 professional full conservatory oboe.  All keys move freely and the pads and key corks are in great condition. This oboe has no cracks present and the lightly tarnished silver plated keys have approximately 98% of plating intact. The body has several minor surface scratches from normal use, which don't affect performance and the bell has a professionally repaired crack near the socket receiver end. There are no gouges, nicks or other bore issues. The serial number is in the lower 10,9xx range, which dates manufacture to approximately 1995. Included is a used wood oboe case, two tenon caps and a Fox cork grease container. This oboe plays fine now and has recently been shop adjusted for good play condition. However, a minor adjustment may be needed after shipping or for personal preference.

Nickel silver keys with 18% nickel silver hinge tubing and heavy silver plating.  Handmade full conservatory mechanism including split ring Eb-E trill key, F# key tab, and low Bb key. Cork pads on low C and above. Teflon tipped stainless steel adjusting screws.  Individually hand tuned to A-440 pitch at 72 degrees Fahrenheit, with maximum resonance and projection.
