Baroque Oboe after Sattler Kenigsperger, Kingwood, A=415.
Three brass keys, 3rd and 4th holes doubled.
This instrument was made by me in 2018 using reamers made by Geoffrey Burgess, and was one of my personal instruments. I apprenticed in baroque oboe making with Harry Vas Dias, and have been making oboes since 2015. The instrument is priced to sell. Please note there is no case for this instrument.
The oboe plays well and has a lovely, sweet sound. Generally good intonation, but altissimo D is low (this is an idiosyncrasy of the actual instrument on which it is based). I can provide a reed in a recommended set up at no cost if requested, but please note this will delay shipping time. Otherwise I am happy to make general recommendations. Instrument will be oiled and given a good going over before shipping.
